Social media are taking a huge part in our everyday life. We see them everywhere. They have change our way of living. Today, we are going to focus on how they have changed our shopping and consumption habits.
Social media are so intrusive that they actually have managed to change our way of living, our way of consuming. Indeed, today, we find it easier to shop online as it “goes faster” and is “easier”. We do not need to move anymore to buy what we need, we just have to sit there and in a click of a button we get what we want. Doing our shopping online allows us to gain time in our routine. The advantage of buying your cloth or food online is that it goes fast and you can do many things whilst doing your shopping. You can also compare the products, and check out what product is cheaper or not and get promotions. But it also has a disadvantage as when you shop online, you might make mistakes in size, type, or the brand and changing it is much harder than if you do your shopping into a basic shop.
Social media also changed our way of consuming, as we do not trust our surrounding anymore. When we need advice, points of views; we do not ask the people we know and in which we trust, we ask the Internet and social media to get a more global point of view. Nowadays we have more trust in opinions on the social media. The advantage of that is that we get an overall point of view but than again, we probably have no similarities with those people and might get a wrong point of view and opinion.
We can therefore say that social media really changed our way of living and consuming.
